Contemporary China at National Tsing Hua University
Purpose:
The Center for Contemporary China (CfCC),
an inter-university research consortium at National Tsing Hua
University, is launching the Contemporary China Fellowship for
international young scholars. The fellowship will give a select
group of graduate students the opportunity to attend advanced
seminars on China and cross-Strait relations, join our field trips
to China, use NTHU’s extensive library collections, and take
advantage of the university’s superb location within one of the
world’s most important centers of high-tech industry — Hsin-Chu
Science Park.
Established in 2003, the CfCC is an
energetic and fast-growing research center. It has attracted the
best scholars and talented graduate students to help lead a paradigm
shift in global China studies. For more information about CfCC,

Eligibility and
conditions:
CfCC invites
applications from all international graduate students majoring in
contemporary China studies or cross-Strait affairs.
The fellowship will be awarded to up to six
graduate students. It includes a stipend of TWD 80,000 (Ph.D.
candidates) or TWD 60,000 (master’s degree candidates) for a
six-month residence. In addition, round trip economy airfare will be
provided. Fellows are required to be in residence at NTHU for six
months (from September 2006 to February 2007). A mini-conference
will be organized for the fellows to present their research results
at the end of visit.
